Morning Sun photograph by John Dyess

This photo was taken about 2004 with my first digital camera, a Minolta Dimage S414. The morning sun was casting shadows of a vase, plant leaves, bottle and drink glass. The reflection – refraction of the sun passing through the glass caught my eye. This light effect is is defined in optics a caustic or caustic network.

I have played with light and shadow in photography, too. I’m often intrigued by this.

Devoree, I would like to see your light and shadow photos. This could be a theme for a future WGCC gallery show. Thanks for sharing
