Bob Hope and Bing Crosby

Lou Costello and Bud Abbott

Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt

These three illustrations were created while I was an employee at Maritz Motivation Company, for use as an incentive promotion for Commercial Credit Corporation. The theme of the mailers was team power which was a popular theme for sales motivation programs. I worked from photos that Maritz paid reproduction fees for the use. Most were black and white photos. I think the reference for Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt was in the public domain. I think today that Maritz would have to pay an agent for the use of the names and images of famous entertainers. I illustrated at least eight teams for Commercial Credit. The originals were drawn with a technical pen and the original illustrations were about 14″ square. The mailers were offset printed in two colors.
