African American model 1978 painted by John Foster Dyess

This 1978 portrait from life  was painted using crayons mixed with oil paint, thinned with turpentine on canvas board. 18″wide by 19.5″high.

      Thanks Ed,I painted this in 1978 at a weekly painting class attended by illustrators Lee Brubaker,Don Kueker,Bill Vann,my wife Carolyn and many other great talents. It is oil thinned with turpentine painted over a crayon drawing on canvas board. I was still working at Maritz at this time. This was a fun time in my life.
