I’ve been looking at this photo on my computer screen and have zoomed in on the children to get a closer look at the detail in their clothes. While doing this my mind began to travel back to 1946.I’ve decided to create pencil drawings from this photo.
Step one :I cropped in on the photo to make a more dramatic composition. I like the three heads at the bottom, because it seems these three children are looking over a wall. The different expressions on the faces of the children are fabulous.
Step two : I cropped into this photo creating a vertical format, which shows three children, then enlarged it to 5.25″ wide by 16″ high. I created a new layer and used the paint bucket to fill this layer with 44% of white .
I printed this image on white bond 11″x17″ paper with my Epson stylus PHOTO 2200. Step three tomorrow.
