The next few posts on my blog are going to be a celebration of the life of our cat Neko.

We selected Neko and brought him to our home on April 20,1998. Neko is in the center with two of his sisters. This is a description  on his official papers. Cat’s name, Kuniyoshi Konomi Neko .  B/W Van Short Hair. Breeder , H.Bruce Spurling and owner, Carolyn Dyess. Neko was a Premier Japanese Bobtail, which means he was neutered. Japanese Bobtails are born with a short tail.

This photo was taken by a professional photographer at one of the cat shows  where we showed Neko. Neko had a classic Japanese Bobtail look, and won many ribbons. He enjoyed going to shows with Carolyn, many of them out of town. After several years he decided he didn’t like cat shows and  we retired him. In this photograph Neko is posing with the Lucky cat beckoning paw.

What a beauty Neko is, was. I am sorry for your loss. How is it pets steal into our lives so completely? “on tiny cat paws.” eecummings (I may be misquoting him, but pretty close. ) kk
