The Gallery within Webster Groves Christian Church will be displaying the art,that has the theme of peace, of students and professional artists.The students are  in my Drawing for Graphics 1 and 2 class at Meramec Community College which is located in Kirkwood Missouri. The art shown is by Alexis Huynh one of the students in Drawing for Graphics 1.

This is the invitation I sent inviting artists to participate:

“Ode to Peace”
“There will be an gallery exhibition, with the theme “Ode to Peace”, at the Gallery Within Webster Groves Christian Church, that will open Friday May 9 and continue until Sunday June 15. The opening will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.”
“Some definitions from a dictionary on my computer define peace as “freedom from disturbance; quiet and tranquility – freedom from or cessation of war or violence – freedom from dispute or dissension between individuals or groups.””
“Some phases using the word peace are at peace 1. free from anxiety or distress 2. in a state of friendliness. make peace re-establish friendly relations ; become reconciled.”
“I like the phase creating a better world one person at a time”
“This will be a curated show. I am asking visual artists, I know, to submit art, with a theme of”
“peace, for this show. This is an invitation to you to submit art to this show. It can be your defini- tion of peace and can be existing art you have created, or art you create for this show. I would like you to write a brief statement about you art that you submit to this show. Your art can be listed as for sale with the buyer picking up your art after the completion of this show. The dead-”
“line for submissions to this show delivered to Webster Groves Christian Church, is Friday May 2, from 8:30 until 4:30.”
