Los Logos parade scene2

Los logos parade drawing by John Foster Dyess

Several years ago I visited with my wife and friends Guanajuato ,Mexico and San Miguel de Allende. While visiting San Miguel de Allende our group watched a Los logos parade and I took digital photos of this parade. When we returned to St.Louis I viewed these photos of the parade and created black line and color drawings from some of these photos. Using reference photos I had taken of these two Mexican cities I created at least 15 drawings and paintings. This is the second scene of the Los logos parade I have drawn.
I wanted to focus on and enhance the expressions of the viewers and the participant in the parade.I  enjoyed drawing the costumes of the parade participants.
The drawing is 12.25″ wide x 10.50 high painted, black ink and watercolor on bond paper.
