This is another photograph that I took while walking in the streets of Guanajuato, Mexico several years ago. I like the colors and shapes of the stones in this old building exterior wall. This is, for me, found abstract art.

While walking the streets with friends in Guanajuato, Mexico I photographed this scene of a green weed growing next to a distressed purple wall. I like the idea of an old broken wall next to a new growing plant.

Don Quixote statue in Guanajuato,Mexico

During our visit to Guanajuato, in June, my wife and four friends visited the Don Quixote Iconographic Museum and viewed many of the 850 pieces of visual art. In a catalog of the art in the museum,I purchased, was this statement “The main objective of the Don Quixote Iconographic Museum is to genuinely familiarize people with The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha through art. Equally important,we strive to preserve the momentous legacy of this defender of human values.” Also stated in the catalog was “Therefore,The natural goal of the museum is to publicly exhibit the Visual arts
dimension of the universality of Don Quixote’s message and thus enrich and prolong Cervantes’ legacy.”After seeing the art in this museum I decided to offer an assignment, to my Illustration1and 2 students at Meramec Community College, the opportunity to illustrate scenes from Don Quixote.
